Objective of the Trade Mission?
This trade mission aims at taking US Companies/ investors to meet with South African Public Agencies and Private entrepreneurs for investment opportunities through Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, Workshops, field visits, and cultural tours.
Why South Africa?

 

South Africa is the most industrialized economy in Africa.
 
SA has a strong legal system and is ranked 21st in strength of investor protection.
SA ranks 30th in the world for its domestic market size.
SA has an advanced financial services sector and ranks 25th out of 137 countries in raising finance through the local equity market.
SA is the regional manufacturing hub and Gateway to Africa with favorable market access and is an export platform
SA ranks 37th in the soundness of its banking system and 46th in its regulation of the securities exchange.
SA is the most technologically advanced country in Africa according to the Global Innovation Index 2016 and the most innovative in SSA, ranking 39th in the 2017/18 Global Competitiveness report.
World class infrastructure: SA’s airport infrastructure is ranked 25th, Ports 37th and Roads 50th.
South Africa ranks first, alongside New Zealand, on the 2017 Open Budget Index achieving a score of 89 out of a 100 in terms of transparency
 
 
Johannesburg (Jo’burg) is the wealthiest and largest province in South Africa with a population of the greater metropolitan area over 7 million. It boasts the largest economy of any region in Sub-Saharan Africa and is one of the 40 largest metropolitan areas in the world. Jo’burg is the source of a large-scale gold and diamond trade, due to its location on the mineral-rich Witwatersrand range of hills.
Cape Town is South Africa’s second-most populated city at about 4 million people and is home to the National Parliament and is the legislative capital of the country. It is one of the world’s great tourist cities with visitors flocking in to enjoy sublime scenery, famous wine farms and historic architecture.
Durban is the third most populous city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town – and the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. Located on the east coast of South Africa, Durban is famous for being the busiest port in the country. It has a population of about 3.44 million and is the second most important manufacturing hub in South Africa after Johannesburg.
